NEXT GENERATION OF THE X UNIVERSE - X³: REUNIONThe Sequel to the award winning X²: The Threat will introduce a new 3D engine as well as a new story, new ships and a new gameplay to greatly increase the variety in the X-universe. The economy of X³: Reunion will be more complex than anything seen in the X-universe before. Factories are being built by NPCs, wars can affect the global economy, NPCs can trade freely and pirates will behave far more realistically. The TechnologyExtensive development has gone into the X³ engine, making full use of DirectX 9 technology, to create dramatic visual effects and stunningly realistic starships. Coupled with the massively enhanced A.L. (Artificial Life) system, X³: REUNION will present players with an ever changing, evolving universe; where a player's actions really can shape the future of the universe. The FeatureNewcomers will enjoy the additions to the already graphically impressive, almost living X³-Universe, while veterans can expect new construction options and an improved physics model. The StoryWhat happened so far: While the Argon fleet is stretched almost to breaking point by the continuing attacks from Khaak, a new enemy is stalking the X-universe. What links a mysterious ship with the power to disappear, the ruthless Yaki pirates and a machine left by an ancient species? It's time to strap yourself in, warm up your laser cannon and get some answers. | "X3 Reunion was by far the most visually impressive game at the booth" the INQUIRER May 2005 (E3 news report) | |

X3: Terran Conflict Hotfix 2.7.1 now Available! |
While Update 2.7 was very well received by our gaming community, a small bug causing one of the plots to stall (Operation Final Fury) was noted by a number of users. We have fixed that particular issue and took the opportunity to sort out a couple of others too. We hope that this small issue hasn't spoiled your enjoyment of the game. We're very pleased then to be able to offer this hotfix, version 2.7.1, to address that and some other issues.

EGOSOFT is very pleased to announce that Virtual Programming Ltd, its Mac OS programming partner, is re-releasing X3: Reunion. VP Ltd have painstakingly re-written the game code, not using Cider this time, bringing it up-to-date with the latest version of the game. The good news for gamers that had already purchased X3: Reunion for the Mac, is that they will get this new version of the game for FREE!
EGOSOFT Managing Director, Bernd Lehahn, said about the release, "We are excited that VP ported the game a second time to improve the experience for our MAC customers and bring it to the same level as Terran Conflict."
"We weren't happy with X3: Reunion's performance when using Cider, and it turned out many of our customers weren't either," said Virtual Programming CEO Mark Hinton. "As a gesture of goodwill, we re-engineered the game as a native port that's a free update for existing customers. Starting today, new X3: Reunion customers will receive the non-Cider version of the game." ... read more... |
