X:Twitter? How does Egosoft react on this?
As you may also have heared, the short messaging service Twitter is renamed to 'X', a 'suprisingly' common name in this forum. Do you, dear Egosoft, wont have a copyright for this name? I mean, you provide games from the x-universe since over 20 years ago.
I know that this question only remotely has something to do with x4, so put it into another part of the forum, if you dont think it fits this part.
Thank you in advance, if you want to provide more official information to this topic

Reminds me of a company I worked for - software company, contained "sky" in the name, as part of a name that's a common phrase or colour.
They received legal threats from Sky broadcasting to change the company name

There was an insurance company my dad worked for called MGM, and it had been established around 200 years ago. Anyhow, back in the 90s, MGM (film people) sent a legal letter insisting they change their name or they'd see them in court. The insurance company wrote back detailing when they were first established and suggested that it was the film people who should consider a change of name instead.
Needless to say, they never heard from them again.
And I don't think a letter can really be copyrighted.
But Twitter rebranded 'X' has to be the daftest brand name since a company I was once a director of came up with the name 'Houses r Us' for the property maintenance division of our rental portfolio. (We changed it within months after endless disbelieving comments.)
Thing is, empower the wrong people to make such decisions, and you'll be dealing with the consequences for quite some time. - I see a number of accounts who followed me on, umm, X, have closed since the change.

“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.
“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”
“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”
“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

The X formerly known as Twitter probably isn't going to stay in business longer than the X series is stilled being worked on, at the rate Musk is sabotaging it.

Twitter had tweets, so can we expect X to have exits instead?
(Maybe the intent was for them to be nicknamed kisses?)

Musk is just an oligrach who wants to fill his pockets. No difference to Gates, Zuckerberg et al. . If he's killing Twitter for good he's got my blessing. One trolling/propaganda farm less.

I share the sentiment that Egosoft X will outlast Musk X
If, only Egosoft would give up on "internet social feature" of ventures, coz I don't want Musk X in my Egosoft X

EGOSOFT should have claimed rights for the "Z" sign and sue anyone who uses it illegally

It should be renamed Xitter, with the "X" having a Chinese pronunciation.
