Thank you,
The download worked now.
So does this work with X3/ 2.0.02?

Works fine with v2.0.02. Just started a new install and new game with 2.0.02 and removed the rocks w/o a problem. As this is a "manually run" script rather than and "active" script, it doesn't hurt saved games (ie: a saved game with rocks removed would probably work with any version of X3, current or future). This script is on my Top 3 "must have" scripts/mods for any game of X3. Love it!

Should be fine - although in clean universe mode it might miss some sectors on the bottom right of the map. IIRC it covers sectors with co-ordinates up to 25,25.
If not, then it is 30 seconds to fix it.
BTW. No problem with raising old threads in scripting forum as long as it is relevant to the script.
Cheers

Resurrecting this again sorry Ran this last night on my save when the lag hit ~2fps and tried to remove all the rocks in the universe, which it claimed it did instantly according to the log, is this likely or has it gone wrong? there was no change in savefile size or lag
BTW running XTM 7.2 and bonus pack .06 and 2.0.0.2

No problem - I just checked it with my XTM game and the rocks were removed.
But there are three things to watch out for
1. With mode four (clean universe) you must select a sector, it doesn't matter which one. If you enter null then the script will refuse to work.
2. While the script is running the auto pilot X is on the screen - don't move the ship while it is running as this will terminate it early. Just wiat for it to finish. On XTM the universe is big - it took 20 seconds on aged machine to complete.
3. If there are rocks in sector then they will not disappear until you reenter the sector.
Cheers

Ah thanks that might be the problem, I was moving at the time (joystick drift as I hadn't bothered to recalibrate it before running the script) I had chosen the sector and my ship so I think that was ok, I'll give it another try tonight after doing a completereinstall of X3, the Bonus pack and XTM as the game is slideshowig with nothin around so there might be other probs I'm having,
Thanks for the help

All running like a dream now thanks to previous help, just been thinking about mobile mining of Nividium and realised I had removed all the rocks to mine oops! Any way of putting high yield stuff back in using the script? or should I just suck it up as punishment for removing it all in the first place

Either my understanding of the english language is not up to scratch or I'm just stupid but ... please help
Am I doning something wrong??
Up to this point everything is fine but this is as far as it goes. I dont get an option to enter the mode for a particular sector or the enitire universe, all i get is a list of arguments.Bunny wrote:Okay, this is from memory so it might be a bit off:
1. Down load the file, unzip it and go into the folder it contains called "Copy to scripts"..
2. Copy the file "cheat.removerocks.xml"
3. Now find your "scripts" directory in the X3 game folder. You should see it already contains alot of .pck files.
4. Paste "cheat.removerocks.xml" into this folder
5. Start X3
6. Rename your pilotname to "Thereshallbewings" to activate the script editor
7. Press Y and select orders, in the menu there should be the option to open the script editor (short cut key s)... open it
8. Hit return to skip the script editor intro screen
9. You should now see a list of scripts.
10. Use the cursor keys to move down the list to "cheat.removerocks"
11. Run this script by pressing r
12. The editor will now ask for an object on which this script will run or null. Select the ship you are in (sector map / then your ship).
Am I doning something wrong??

I've used this script before with X3 2.02 to clear the universe with mode 4,
it did it on more then 1 occasion.
After running the script , the game would freeze for a while as expected .
I tried to do the same now , i'm running X3 2.05 with XTM and other scripts installed, and although I can run remove rocks the game doesn't freeze after running the script.
Looking at maelstrom it doesn't seem to be working.
Is it incompatible with other scripts?
