---Designed to bridge and extend the reach of the Protectorate's logistics and supply chains, Terran Trading Docks are typically found far from core territories. Shored up by a small trading flotilla these stations are well suited for refuelling and resupply of expeditionary fleets, often serving as vital staging points between sequestered territories or on the way to military fronts. While not as heavily armed as dedicated defence installations, some provisions have been afforded to ensure the safety of supplies and service vessels by way of centrally located shielded docking bays and long-range defensive turrets.
