Any way to get back declined mssions?

After reading some of the posts here, it seems that a mistake I made the other night may be a very bad mistake indeed. Apparently the mission that starts with a Boron(aquatic race?) to help him with research, well I accidentally hit decline instead of accept. So am wording if there is any way to get back onto the mission or am I doomed? Dooooooooooomed!?

So after flying around a few sectors and whatnot, I ended up back where this guy starts his help request. He does return not sure how long it takes or if you have to fly away etc or if it was a bug him vanishing, but he's back.

This specific mission will always re-appear after some time. It doesn't necessarily come back at whatever station you found it at first but it can come at other stations as well ( you really can't miss out on it ).
