Bringing back the old lens flares?

I love lens flares.
I know many have boiling hot takes about them.

but if you could buy glasses that made you see lens flares in real life I would wear them.

X2 and Mass Effect 1 are good examples of games with the correct amount of flares.

that out of the way... anyone know if its possible to revert the post process lens flares into the game? sure they were not the best, but they were something and I like games having a art direction. sure not everyone likes it but they could have at least featured a toggle for it.
