Modified: No
Game Start: Any
Problem:
Some medium turrets have different costs depending on whether they are installed on a Medium ship or L/XL ship.
How to Reproduce:
Create a station with ship building capabilities but empty storage.
Attempt to build a Medium ship with an ARG M Bolt turret. Not the materials it is requesting in the botton right.
Compare the materials asked for to the in-game encyclopedia.
Save file has a custom start with a station set to Terran build method, and a minimum loadout Falx queued with a single ARG M Bolt turret showing the missing resources clearly.

Showing bolt turret uses material values that don't line up with encyclopedia. (1 Advanced Electronics, 12 Turret Components)

Research:
This appears to be because there are separate entries for M turrets, so that the ones on L/XL ships can be destroyed, while those on Medium ship's can't.
Solution:
Make the resouce cost of the M turrets identical between their M and L/XL variant.

Re: [6.20] M turrets have inconsistent material costs.
That's a good catch.
An alternative role playing explanation though could be that on capitals, the M turret collective processing is mainly done on the capital's hardened mainframe rather than in-turret and the capital turret can utilise more armour protection instead.

I'm fine with them having different values if the player can expect that. But the encyclopedia will only give one of them.Alan Phipps wrote: ↑Wed, 7. Feb 24, 10:04That's a good catch.

Of the 44 duplicated turrets between M and L/XL ships, 13 have inconsistent values. Almost all of them are from the core 3 factions from the base game.
Most of them are the PAR turrets (all of which are inconsistent), and only 1 comes from a DLC (the TER bolt turret, possibly designed early on).
Maybe it was intended at some point, but didn't end up panning out / was abandoned. Regardless it would be good to bring the older content in line with the apparent new design philosophy, and have them match their entries in the encyclopedia.
