[#117][5.10 HF2] Loading Screen 2 thirds screen size

Post by alt3rn1ty » Thu, 28. Apr 22, 11:32

Please refer the previously made topic in the read only Public beta forum :
viewtopic.php?f=192&t=445655

This is a follow up post to the above ..
First screenshot is the first splash screen I get after launching the exe
https://i.imgur.com/gsxtKTw.png

The above screenshot shows the problem.
As you can see it's not covering the whole screen res.

It then changes to fill the screen a few seconds after
https://i.imgur.com/0GR9vAB.png
.. Only now having installed ToA the screen is the ToA splash image.

In the previous topic @WoodyAut corroborated the issue.

As determined in the previous read only topic, I can reproduce the issue :

Using FSR (using Quality, I have not tried other FSR settings) I get the same issue on this new machine.

Without FSR the issue does not occur.

So the issue is not unique to the machine I used to have, and seemingly is related to using FSR which was introduced in the 5.0+ betas and above (I did not have this problem prior to the 5.0 betas)

So the problem is that for a brief moment while the game is loading, but before reaching the main menu, the loading screen is not sized correctly? This problem does not happen at all during gameplay?

Yep thats it, nothing major and does not affect the gameplay, its just a clunky startup of the game which was not evident before FSR came along.
Probably just a case of loading timing of FSR.

I see the reduced size splash screen for about 7 seconds, https://i.imgur.com/jcE6Tkp.png

then it re-sizes to normal full screen https://i.imgur.com/LgiOPW4.png ..

.. and stays for about 2 seconds, then I see the Egosoft "Its full of stars" logo animation etcetera etcetera.

= All is normal after that first 7 seconds of reduced size splash screen.

7 Beta 4 HF 1

I'm starting to wonder why I get all the bugs which are not adressed for YEARS!

Am I a gullible customer who is willing to endure problems?

Its not the first time I have had to endure

See also this topic viewtopic.php?f=180&t=456976

Which is not the first topic I have been left in the lurch waiting for a fix.

Getting really pissed off.

Unfortunately we have been completely unable to reproduce this problem, leaving us with no idea why it's happening for you, and to our knowledge nobody else, and no means to address it.

Hi,

I can confirm - the issue still exists.....maybe this issue only appears on AMD cards, on my current RX 590 it still happens, it also happened on my former AMD card (no idea anymore which chipset it had) - when turning on for example "FSR 1.0 Performance" the first startup screen is shown smaller....
However....this is such a minor minor minor issue.....if it is solved in X9 V120 - nice....but there are much more important things than this few seconds on startup.

Best regards
WoodyAut

Oh, I thought report topics which have been given a bug reference number in the title meant devs had been able to repro.

Ok well as WoodyAut says its no biggie really, and as far as I can tell it has no knock on effect to the rest of the game. It was just really bugging me that I seem to be unlucky with bugs I find being very long term. I've had a few more in the past which eventually did get resolved, after a few years wait.

@WoodyAut, I dont have anything AMD. CPU is Intel, GPU is NVidia. So system wise I dont think we have anything in common, apart from it starting as FSR was introduced.
