Editing meshes?

Anyone have any info yet on editing meshes? I tried different extensions and all but I only had luck with a few specific models (certain hud elements like the cockpit monitor planes and drone hud). From references in the files I am guessing they are collada format, or compiled/packed in some way.

I also looked at the animation files, but I don't have high hopes for ever being able to edit them, since it seems they were done in Emotion FX (proprietary, expensive commercial license).

I don't think there is an importer plugin for 3DsMax or something available yet. Though OldDav54 here has made changes to the cockpit model so he might know more: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=350263

At the current moment no one has worked out how meshes are imported/exported in this game. Me and Observe had ago and have a few ideas about it but as of this moment haven't got anything to work. But we did have to drop it due to other work.
