Any mods planned to make the FPS experience more robust overall?
Maybe better character models/interiors, more details and locations to walk around and interact with?
I know its very early to discuss this but I am wondering if any talented modders share my enthusiasm for exploring space things on foot?

Understandable. But I can not take your word that no mods are planned as of yet. Many times mods are planned before release based on known details. There are also videos of ingame footage showing off some portions of the FPS mechanic. Many have spoken about character detail being a little low and such among other things. I'm not saying it's gamebreaking or anything. Just trying to see if if there is any modder interest in this area already.
They may even make an expansion or two down the line that ads to areas of the game that I am referring to.

Not sure what you'd call over-the-top but yes there was a very active modding community. Anything from new AI scripts for your fleet to new stations and lots in between. The best ones were packaged by Egosoft themselves and sometimes even included in later releases like Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude.mastro_akq wrote:Was there a lot of modding interest for past games and some really over-the-top mods for any of the X- games?
From what we've been told so far this can only get better with Rebirth. The game engine was created with modding in mind, according to Egosoft you should have even more possibilities for modding than in the previous games.

I would like to make FPShooter mod if the tools available allow that type of scripting. Or Custom interiors of stations through purchasable or build-able options. I could definitely make use of my 3DS MAX.
I would think that if The Skunk is the only pilot-able ship, it would be in Egosofts responsibility to develop more that are considered "Official" to the game through expansions. If not, then only "IF" I had the time I would try and make a custom ship building mod, where you could build ships aesthetically in accordance to whatever modules that are used in the game's vanilla upgrades.
I'm sure I could come up with several mod ideas, similar to mod made for the game Skyrim in terms of scripting.

I'd love the mods to remove the entire FPS section - instead of walking down the hatch and through the station and around the corridors and into the bar and then up to each NPC in turn.... I'd like to pop up a screen where I can talk to them remotely, from the comfort of my pilot's chair, without the boring walking through the station guff.
Something so boring that they had to put a insta-teleport back to your pilot's chair in. Says something, that does.
