Re: The good old days

The f are you talking about? The music is still as good as it was. The only difference is that he had to compose tracks that would compensate the bigger universe/longer time spent flying in a single sector. Thus the tracks aren't as upbeat and "dense" as they used to be. Did you just say "The straw...

Re: Bad game design: satellites

Allowing trade with other groups was always restricted in human history, especially when there were ongoing large scale open conflicts. You only trade with people you trust. On the other hand i don't see why would it make the game any better if we would have instant access to all trade offers acros...

Re: The good old days

BTW: Have they changed their composer or did the guy just get too old by now? It feels like he lost his edge compared to the previous soundtracks. Alexei Zakharov still does OST for the game.. he did for XR too. But different tone and less and shorter tracks now. For crying out loud, give the dude ...

Re: Bad game design: satellites

Why would a faction with the need to get goods delivered form A to B restrict those informations to anymore? thats neither in the interest of that facion, nor of every single Station. Allowing trade with other groups was always restricted in human history, especially when there were ongoing large s...

Re: The good old days

And there's the thing. X4 has a mass of new elements, and many of them could be considered underdeveloped at the minute. Many of them are completely unnecessary or given too high of a priority. They obviously kept Egosoft from the important bits. That "visually building a station" thing is a good e...

Re: X4: Foundations Umfrage #3: Was gefällt dir NICHT?

Re: X4: Foundations Umfrage #3: Was gefällt dir NICHT?

Falsche Frage Bernd!

Re: X Series ended after X3: Reunion

... but attacking defenders of the franchise as fanboy's with disingenuous arguments and insults is unnecessary. But a lot of fun AND through that, one can also argue that X4 has PvP. Yes, the X legacy ended somewhere in X3. There's not much brought to the table with the newer titles. Conside...

Re: The good old days

In x3 the destroyers were too strong, in x4 they are too weak, the ideal would be a middle ground. But as for the weapons they use, in x3 they were much more fascinating. in x4 the main cannons of a destroyer don't even look like weapons. Those things are HUGE! They have to have tremendous firepowe...

Re: 6 destroyers destroyed by a bunch of fighters

But I just wonder, how are off-sector battles done? Do they only get calculated? Does accuracy of turrets not matter then? Because I had an L trader which did fairly well until the moment I went to watch it live and then ti seemed to not being able to hit anything anymore. Yes, there is and always ...

Re: Bad game design: satellites

I think i could actually live with it if a rather small change would be implemented: Satellites cover an encompassed space (3+). PLUS every station covered by your network pays you connection fee. BUT if you want to get the fee then the information is public and the AI uses it as well - also for a f...

Just consider yourself lucky that your keyboard does not have "shutdown" shortcut key :) Don't remind me! I am still wondering what godforsaken dimwit decided to put that thing right next to the +Volume. AND, to round matters up to a nice and warm disaster it's "FN + F12", so i can't even get rid o...

Re: Bad game design: satellites

If I was running a station I would rather send market updates to any pilot that wants them instead of having the station vincity cluttered with satellites. You would send them SPAM containing your prices whether they want them or not! You would post them on the Xternet because you WANT peopl...

Re: 6 destroyers destroyed by a bunch of fighters

I think the most stupid thing ever invented is that recharge delay. That must go away! Makes jokes out of capital ships! A fart in your general direction keeps the huge capacitor banks of your 1200 m battleship from recharging the one thing that is made to be shot at?!? Seriously? Of course shields ...

Re: I don't agree with the devs about universe size

Well, to be completely fair, a station 280000 km out would be screwed. You wouldn't even want your traders to trade with them, taking 2 days or so to reach. They would have to pay ridiculous prices for the goods. IF there is anything out there it's not worth it. You don't have the means to make any...
